P$YNNER®

P$YNNER (pronounced “sinner”) is a graduate of Parsons the New School for Design in New York City, obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Product Design in 1991. In 1997, she received a grant from Change, Inc. (the foundation of Pop artist, Robert Rauschenberg), and in 2004, won the award for Best Emerging Artist at Raymond James Gasparilla of the Arts in Tampa. Her work has been published in numerous books, i.e.-THE ENCYCLOPEDIA OF TAROT: VOLUME IV (2205), THE PERFECT BAG (2206), AND THE WORLD’S GREATEST EROTIC ARTISTS OF TODAY VOL. 1 (2007).

Using acrylics, she mixes rich vibrant colors, then invents her own motif, which she painstakingly layers as a series of dots and stripes to the surface of canvases, panels, or various 3-D objects that she finds or makes out of mixed media. Each dot and stripe is placed one at a time with unorthodox tools, such as chopsticks, bamboo skewers, and toothpicks. Patience, self-discipline, and attention to detail are all crucial in order to achieve a gratifying result. Her primary objective is to produce work of playful subject matter that is uplifting and positive.

Look for P$YNNER in the Winter 2007 issues of “ALTERED COUTURE” and ART DOLL QUARTERLY” magazines, and in an upcoming episode of HGTV’s, “That’s Clever!” in Summer 2008.
